Casa Azul aims to be a welcoming space open to a variety of cultural, recreational, and professional activities. The goal of the project is to offer a place where people can create, meet, share, and develop their needs and their art. Casa Azul is a project promoted by the Verzasca Foto Association.

OUR STORY

The first House of Photography in the Canton of Ticino was inaugurated in 2021 by the Verzasca Foto Association during the festival of the same name. After years of artistic interaction in outdoor spaces, the organizers wanted to realize one of their main goals: the creation of a permanent space where cultural and exhibition activities could be offered throughout the year.

Named Casa Azul, this space aims to serve a dynamic role, open to the public, with a year-round calendar of activities. It is a free and accessible meeting place for all — a platform for connection and networking within our region.

The goal of this project is to encourage the exchange of ideas and, in the long term, to develop a hub for exploring new ways of conceiving cultural activities in the area. It also aims to provide professional gathering spaces and potentially create new job opportunities.

SUGGEST YOUR ACTIVITY

We welcome proposals for:

  • Conferences, presentations of photographic projects and books

  • Screenings of films, documentaries, and short films

  • Hands-on creative workshops

  • Theoretical and practical educational events and workshops

  • Temporary stands to promote your own work

We also offer workspaces/studios/meeting rooms, available for associations or freelance professionals such as photographers, graphic designers, IT specialists, web designers, start-ups, small business owners, working groups, and more.

The house features a main hall for conferences and gatherings, a reception area with a library space and kitchen. On the first floor, there are four additional rooms available for activities, studios, offices, and exhibitions.
