By creating an archive of images of the valley, the Verzasca Foto Association aims to enrich the collective visual memory, safeguarding and bringing to light the photographic material in the area through exhibitions and publications.

Dì da festa (Days of celebration 2018)

This was the first in a series of exhibitions that the Verzasca Foto Association wishes to offer based on images from the collection of the Verzasca Valley Photographic Archive.

The valley of the past is the framework of the theme that introduces this new chapter of exhibitions and pays homage to the celebration of leisure time together with the period of the advent of cameras in the homes of Verzasca residents.

The exhibition was held in the old girls' school in Lavertezzo Valle. A disused building that had been in a state of disrepair for many years, it reopened to the public thanks to the archive exhibition.

The Verzasca Foto Association would like to thank and pay tribute to the people of Verzasca who, by collaborating, have opened their doors and then their photo albums to us, showing us pages a century long.

In cammino (2019)

The exhibition is the result of a 'glocal' cooperation between the Festival and the Verzasca Museum: on the one hand, three participatory evenings were held in social venues in the valley with the project 'Listen to this! Original stories at the bar" in which the people of Verzasca were invited to bring their private and unpublished "treasure" consisting of photographs, documents, letters from emigrant relatives, and objects with sentimental value into a public setting. On the other hand, the search for unpublished photos took place outside the local borders with the use of social media. The Verzasca diaspora overseas got active and sent photos of relatives who emigrated to America and Australia at the beginning of the 20th century, thus helping to reconstruct a "missing part" of Verzaschesi's emigration in images.
