House of Photography 'Casa Azul' - aims to be a welcoming space open to various cultural, recreational and professional activities. The aim of the project is to offer a place where people can create, meet, share and develop their needs and their art. Casa Azul is a project promoted by the Verzasca Foto Association.

During the winter-spring period in addition to exhibition proposals, every first Sunday of the month we meet for an 'artists' coffee'.

The House of Photography in Gordola "Casa Azul" is safe!

After months of uncertainty and almost resigned to having to leave these spaces, with surprise and joy we learned that also thanks to the various oppositions, the building at the moment will not be demolished.

So from May, we plan to offer activities sharing the energy of this wonderful house. In September some of Verzasca Foto's exhibitions will be held here.

CASA AZUL, ABOUT AND ACTIVITIES

Nicknamed Casa Azul, this structure wishes to have a dynamic function open to the public with an agenda of activities throughout the year. A free and accessible meeting space for all. A platform for connecting and creating contacts in our region.

We are open to proposals for the following activities:

-Conferences and presentations of photographic projects or books
-Projections of films, documentaries and short films
-Laboratories for manual activities
-Workshops and theoretical and practical teaching events
-Temporary stands for the promotion of one's own works

We also provide work/study/meeting spaces, e.g. for associations or freelance workers such as photographers, graphic designers, IT specialists, web designers, start-ups, or small entrepreneurs, work groups, etc.

The house has a main hall for meetings and events, reception with library space and kitchen. On the first floor there are 4 rooms for further activities and exhibitions.

The first House of Photography in Canton Ticino was opened in 2021 by the Verzasca Foto Association during its festival. The organisers, after years of artistic interaction with outdoor venues, wanted to realise one of their main objectives, namely the creation of a space in a fixed structure where to offer cultural and exhibition activities throughout the year.

Casa Azul is intended to be an open and welcoming place, where, in addition to regular exhibitions, a variety of cultural, recreational and professional activities can take place. A space that is easily accessible for the population of the valleys and the plain, but also for those coming from the urban centres. The realisation of this project is intended to encourage the exchange of ideas and develop in the long term a forge that will be useful in the search for new ways of conceiving cultural activities in the area, offer spaces for professional meetings and also create possible jobs.
